What to expect during a private consult

Consults are generally provided in person but can be via phone or video call, subject to your particular circumstances and location.

As a guide, initial consult are up to 120 minutes (2 hours) and follow-up consults are offered as 60-minute (1 hour) or 90-minutes (1.5 hour) sessions.

For most people our initial consult will be a private ( ‘one on one’) in-person consult, generally starting in your home.

In most cases we will have spoken about your needs, challenges & priorities before the initial consult, including any underlying medical issues or concerns, (humans & dogs), whether (or not) your dog requires additional medication (where appropriate) prior to consult, any foods allergies or sensitivities & initial set ups for my arrival (especially important where there are aggression concerns). This enables us to provide the best, least stressful arrangement for your dog, especially when dealing with more complex behaviours.

During the consult along with observations & discussion, including realistic goals, we will begin to implement various strategies (from basic training to behaviour modification and management) using modern science (evidence) based methods to improve areas of concern & to strengthen your relationship with your dog through better communication and understanding, without the use of fear or force.

Following the consultation, you will receive a comprehensive behaviour report and behaviour training plan tailored to you and your dog which we review and adjust as we progress towards you and your dog’s goals and of course, ongoing support as needed via phone or email.

Note: If your dog has suddenly developed unwanted behaviours do see your vet
