Many behaviour problems are extremely common & often cause a great deal of emotion & frustration for both the dogs & their families.
Behaviour problems are the most common reason dogs are rehomed or worse!
Some of the most common problems caregivers encounter are their dog’s getting over excitement, jumping up on people, pulling on lead, destructive chewing, digging, mouthing and barking, not listening and poor recall.
Other unwanted behaviours may be the result of underlying anxiety or fear, such as separation anxiety when left home alone or separated from the caregivers, compulsive types behaviours, coprophagia (poo eating) , constant licking or chewing or are only present in certain situations such visitors to the home, street walks, handling related behaviours ( groomers & vet visits) or worried about new or different things in the environment.
The list is unlimited & there are many reasons why a dog may be engaging in behaviours that we don’t like from simply enjoying what they are doing, or perhaps we haven’t taught them what we would like instead (or have unintentionally reinforced the behaviour we don't like), boredom or frustration & sometimes there may be an underlying medical issue.
Private consults are tailored specifically to you and your dog(s), using modern science (evidence) based methods to improve not only the areas of concern but to strengthen your relationship with your dog through better communication and understanding without the use of fear or force.
Consults can be provided in-person, via phone or video call, subject to your particular circumstances and location.
As part of the consultation process you will receive a comprehensive behaviour report and training plan tailored to you and your dog which we review and adjust as we progress towards you and your dog's goals.
Note: If your dog has suddenly developed unwanted behaviours do see your vet.
