    A little about me...

I grew up in the country and I’ve always been a little (or a lot) animal crazy in a home filled with a small menagerie from chooks, ducks and geese, dogs, cats, rabbits, a kangaroo, tadpoles & frogs, cockatoos, lizards and horses with my favourites' being dogs, horses and cows.

Ive always had a special love for dogs and the joy that they bring to our lives & moving from the country to Perth enabled me to become involved in volunteering with dog rescue, which was quite an eye opener- I'd never realised there were so many people out that were struggling with their 'problem dogs' and when out and about with my wonderful dog, Zak  I was often stopped at the park or the beach by complete strangers  and asked if I was a dog trainer and 'how did you teach your dog that?'....

I'd never really thought about 'training' or 'how' I actually did it, it was more based around having fun and learning new things together but this got me thinking about the things my wonderful  Zak could do & planted the 'seed' to know more & be able to help other people & their dogs.... (what I didnt know at the time was that my  'training approach' actually incorporated the science based force free approach I use today).

I knew I wanted to know & understand more to be able to help people & their dogs using science with kindness & so the 'learning journey' began (it never ends :) ) obtaining the Nationally Accredited Certificate IV Companion Animal Service - Dog Training under the mentorship of the fantastic Ken Storrs (trainer of the trainers) & continuing my education in the world of canine behaviour science & technology.

Every dog is different and everyone teaches us something, the learning never ends, nor would I want it to and as trainers & behaviour coaches we should be continually building on our skills and knowledge, the more we know, the more we can share and this can only be a positive in helping companion dogs and their people to live a happy life.
